"Oh! What a Glorious Show!": NTDTV's Chinese New Year Spectacular Off to a Grand and Graceful Start

New York City, New York (PRWEB) February 16, 2007 -Thousands have braved snow and freezing temperatures in the Big Apple to catch the first few performances of NTDTV's Chinese New Year Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall this week. And judging from the audience response, they think the trip is well worth the effort.

From the moment the curtain is raised, the audience gasps in collective awe at the sight of the huge backdrop of a heavenly realm displayed on Radio City's huge 90' LED screen, transporting viewers to a divine land in the large-scale dance entitled "Creation." In this piece, beautiful models stride onto stage displaying gorgeous Tang dynasty fashions, evoking the grace and dignity of the Golden Age of China and setting the stage for what is to come.

This year the Chinese New Year Spectacular offers an all-new line-up of performances, new dance troupes, a 45-piece live orchestra, and an entirely original experience. Some find the songs sung by the vocalists to be poetic and profound; others are moved to tears by the poignant strains of the two stringed Chinese instrument, the erhu.

The dance "Reaping What is Sown" is a touching reminder that our actions, good and bad, all have their consequences. The thrilling "Herding on the Mongolian Plains" evokes horsemen galloping under a vast and open sky and almost brings down the house every time it is performed. More than one person has commented afterwards they feel this is the way men ought to be - soulful, strong, and valiant.

Many in the audience are loyal fans of the Chinese New Year Spectacular. "It's the best show in the world," said Ove Hallberg from Sweden, who attended with his friends from Sweden just to see the show in New York.

Those who are new to the experience were heard to say over and over again in the lobby after the show: "Oh! It was beautiful! I'm so glad I came!"
