The International Bluegrass Music Museum Introduces An All-New Series of Interactive Hands-On Guided Tours for Groups of All Ages--Learn to play Mando

Owensboro, KY (PRWEB) August 5, 2005 -- From scavenger hunts, short videos, touch-screen exhibits and hands-on instrument lessons to in-depth music history discussions, film screenings, instrument demonstrations and group teaching of an entire song&with instruments!&IBMM tours are tailored to offer a special experience for every age group, from seniors to youngsters.

The museums plan is to foster in Kentucky school-age children a sense of ownership of bluegrass music and to ignite a passion in young adults for a musical form that has inspired much of todays popular music. Additional focus is placed on honoring and paying tribute to the pioneers of bluegrass music through the IBMA Bluegrass Hall of Honor display and discussions of the museums ongoing Video Oral History Project.

Ranging from a destination for travel groups to educational trips for school groups, these new tours offer an enriching experience for young and old, and besides being a great way to spend an hour or half a day, they are also a great bargain. For groups of 30 or more, the cost is $3 per person for a one-hour tour and $8 per person for the three-hour tours.

The International Bluegrass Music Museum is the only museum of its kind in the world. It is located in the beautiful RiverPark Center Complex at 117 Daviess Street in downtown Owensboro on the banks of the Ohio River. With a mission to preserve and promote bluegrass music, the museum provides extensive educational services, a lasting home for bluegrass, and great entertainment for music fans worldwide.   
Ongoing projects are Bluegrass in the Schools, Video Oral History Project, and ROMP -- the River of Music Party Music & Film Festival. Upcoming projects include The Story of Bill Monroe musical and an Archival Digitization Project.
